Cook a Healthy Meal

Use the proportions of foods on the Canada’s Food Guide plate as a tool to help you make a healthy meal or snack.


Can you?

  1. Make half of your plate vegetables and fruits. Vegetables and fruits should always make up the largest proportion of the foods you eat throughout the day.

  2. Make one-quarter of your plate whole grain foods.

  3. Make one-quarter of your plate protein foods. Choose protein foods that come from plants more often than from animals.

  4. Take a photo of your healthy meal.

  5. Eat and Enjoy!

  6. Upload the photo to your journal.


Or maybe...

Cook a favourite meal but this time...cook with with less salt, use less sugar etc. Or choose a healthier option (Example: Water instead of Sugary Drinks…).
